Estrella Wxxxxxx v. Archdiocese of St. Louis:

This is a case involving an employee of the Archdiocese employed at a retirement home for nuns. The claimant was accosted and battered by a co-employee. The case was tried to the Administrative Law Judge who awarded the claimant permanent partial disability and medical benefits. The employer appealed to the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission who upheld the award of the Administrative Law Judge. The employer chose to appeal the case to the Missouri Court of Appeals who addressed the assault law under Workers’ Compensation and upheld the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission award granting benefits of permanent partial disability and medical benefits to the claimant.
